What's inside

Everything you need to put barcodes in Salesforce.

Configure barcodes declaratively, preview them live, and display them across every Salesforce experience — no developer required.

100+ barcode & QR formats

QR Code, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, Code 128, EAN/UPC, GS1 DataBar, ITF-14, postal (USPS, Royal Mail), pharma (HIBC, PZN) and many more. Default format is Code 128.

Guided visual config editor (new)

A purpose-built editor replaces the standard create/edit form. Design and preview a barcode visually, then save — a true what-you-see-is-what-you-get, no-code experience.

Live preview with real or sample data

The barcode renders instantly as you change type, scale, rotation or data. Toggle between manual data and a real record via a searchable record picker to preview the live field value.

Any field, on any object

Render a barcode from any text field on any standard or custom object. Searchable object and field pickers mean no typing or memorizing API names.

Display everywhere

Drop the component on Lightning record, app and home pages, Experience Cloud / community pages, and Salesforce Classic via custom buttons or inline pages.

Embed in Flow screens

Place barcodes inside guided flows. The component exposes Barcode Config Name, Record Id and Component Height properties for flexible placement.

Download as PNG or JPEG

Export barcodes as PNG or JPEG images — straight from the preview — ready for printing on labels, tickets, packaging and documents.

Built for real use cases

Inventory and asset tracking, event registration and ticketing, attendance check-in, order automation, warehouse and healthcare labeling — all from existing Salesforce records.

Companion mobile scanning apps

The free "Barcode To Cloud" apps for iOS and Android close the loop — scan barcodes to create, display or update Salesforce records. Generate in Salesforce, print, then scan back in.

How it works

Two steps to a live barcode.

01

Create a Barcode Config

Use the guided editor to pick a format, choose the source object and field, set scale and options, and watch the barcode render live. Smart defaults mean a working config is just a name away.

02

Drop the component on a page

Add the "Barcode and QR Code Generator" component to an App Builder page (or Flow / Classic page) and enter the config name. The barcode auto-populates from the current record.

FAQ

Questions we hear often.

Do I need to write any code?

No. Everything is configured declaratively. You create a "Barcode Config" record using the guided visual editor, then drag the component onto a page and enter the config name — no Apex or custom development required.

Which barcode formats are supported?

Over 100 symbologies, including QR Code, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, MaxiCode, Code 128, Code 39, EAN/UPC, the GS1 DataBar family, ITF-14, SSCC-18, postal codes (USPS, Royal Mail, Australia Post), and pharma/healthcare codes (HIBC, PZN, pharmacode). The default is Code 128.

Where can the barcode be displayed?

On Lightning record, app and home pages, in Flow screens, on Experience Cloud / community pages, and in Salesforce Classic via custom buttons or inline Visualforce pages.

Can the barcode use data from my records?

Yes. A barcode renders from any text field on any standard or custom object. The component reads the current record’s field value automatically, so barcodes stay in sync with your data.

Can I save or print the barcode?

Yes. Barcodes can be downloaded as PNG or JPEG images — directly from the config editor preview — for printing on labels, tickets, packaging and documents.

How do I scan barcodes back into Salesforce?

Install the free companion "Barcode To Cloud" apps for iOS and Android. They scan barcodes and QR codes to create, display or update records directly in your Salesforce org.

Is the app really free and secure?

Yes. It is free to install and has passed Salesforce’s AppExchange security review. It is a managed package (namespace BarQR), published since 2020 and actively maintained.
