Using the Grid

AppColab Grid is designed for speed and productivity. Here is how to make the most of its features.

Navigation & Sorting

• Sort: Click any column header to sort the data. Click again to reverse the order.
• Pagination: Use the controls at the bottom to navigate between pages or change the number of records displayed per page.

Searching & Filtering

• Global Search: Use the search bar at the top to quickly find records matching your text across all visible columns.
• Filters: Click the Filter icon to open the advanced filter panel.
  • Add rules to narrow down your data.
  • Click Apply to update the grid.

Inline Editing & Advanced Operations

You can edit multiple records directly within the grid and manipulate records in advanced ways using Edit Mode.

1. Enter Edit Mode: Click the pencil icon in the top-right toolbar of the grid.
2. Edit Cells: All editable cells will turn into input fields. Click into any cell to modify values.
3. Undo / Redo: Made a mistake? Use the rapid Undo or Redo buttons in the toolbar to confidently revert local changes before committing them.
4. Bulk Changes: You can modify as many rows and columns as needed.
5. Save: Click the Save (disk icon) button in the toolbar to commit all pending changes.
6. Cancel: Click the Cancel (X icon) to discard unsaved changes and exit Edit Mode.

Display Formatting & Field Types

Columns may leverage advanced configuration options like Conditional Highlighting (cells turning green/red based on rule criteria) or Type Overrides (showing numeric data as Mini Charts). All cell data interactions organically inherit these formats.

Actions & Toolbar Options

• Row Actions: Dedicated action icons appear on the left side of each row. Depending on your configuration, these may include:
  • View / Edit / Delete: Standard CRUD operations.
  • Clone: Instantly duplicate a row's data to rapidly create an identical record.
  • Show Files: Directly manage Salesforce Files (Attachments/ContentDocuments) related to that specific record from the row context.
  • Custom Actions: Screen Flows or URLs.
• Mass Actions: Select multiple rows using the checkboxes on the far left. Actions available for bulk processing (like Mass Delete) will appear in the top toolbar.
• Column Settings: Click the settings icon in the toolbar to dynamically toggle which columns are visible in your interface without permanently altering the backend config.

CSV Export

AppColab Grid makes it incredibly easy to take your data offline:

• Download: Click the Download CSV icon in the top right toolbar to instantly export the current grid view into a .csv file.
• Performance: The export cleanly handles all rows present in your view, perfect for quick reporting or offline analysis.

Viewing Related Data (Child Grids)

If the grid has child grids configured (e.g., Contacts under Accounts):

1. Click the > (chevron) icon on the left of a row.
2. The row will expand to reveal the child grid.
3. You can interact with this nested grid just like the main one.

Inline Child Record Creation

A powerful feature of child grids is the ability to create related records seamlessly without leaving context:

1. Click the New Row button within the context of the expanded child grid.
2. Auto-Populated Context: AppColab Grid intelligently handles required relationships. For example, if you are adding a Quote Line Item inside a Quote child grid, the QuoteId is automatically linked locking it correctly so you do not have to search for the parent ID manually.
3. Enter the required details (like Quantity or Price) and click Save to insert the child record immediately.
